Ah, that is a very real issue for now. I haven't had as much of an issue with happening quite that fast, but here's what can help for now:
One thing you could try is to send longer messages. Sometimes we could just reply with "I attack him" or "I run away", but it makes better use of your message limits if you send longer, more detailed messages about what you want to do and it usually gets longer responses from Claude (which makes it take longer to read and allows you to play longer between hitting limits.)
Another thing that can help is sort of 'playing' their system by knowing that the message limits reset every 5 hours. So for instance, if you know you want to play at 6pm, send one message to claude at 2pm. This way the chat will reset at 7pm (5 hours past the first message). So this way you could play from 6pm to 7pm, hit your limit, then continue playing at 7:01 until you hit your limit again.
Otherwise, you can also try continuing with Haiku when the message limit for Sonnet 3.5 is hit. For some roleplays haiku works just fine, but for others it struggles keeping up with all of the plot points and stuff, so it's up to you if you want to try this in your chats.
The only other options I can think of for now are to use chatGPT (but it isn't as good IMO) or to use the Claude API (but this can be a hassle to set up and requires you to pay per message instead of just using the free tier or the monthly subscription)
Sorry if this isn't helpful, I know the message limits can be frustrating. If more people show interest in the game I will consider making a full version that runs outside of claude, but I didn't want people to have to pay as they play so I'm not sure if this will get made. For what it's worth, the people who make Claude promised to try and raise the message limits this year, so I'm hoping they stick to that.
I was skeptical at first as I've never messed around too much with games like these, but that was super neat!I made a Claude Opus account and had to get the pro which kinda blew but I do think it was ultimately worth it. Thanks so much for making this, it'll certainly keep me entertained for awhile lol Now to feed my DnD characters to it so i can make a little story ^^
Hi! Can't get Claude Opus here, it hasn't been deployed yet. I use Chatgpt4, but it can't read the file, says it's encrypted and it won't do anything. Any tips? Thanks!
I just tried it an wow that is frustrating lol. It worked with a previous version on GPT 4 (but not nearly as well as opus)
Anyways, the issue it had when I just tried it is that it refuses to actually read the file without explicit instruction. So try telling it to read the document you uploaded (it's encoded in a way AI can easily read without any help). Once I convinced GPT-4 to read the file just now it started the game. But it took a few message reminding it that it, in fact, can read files.
This should work, but I still want to emphasize how much better Claude performed. I know you said you can't get it in your area yet, but now that I'm playing on GPT again it does no justice to the game. So when claude comes to your area try to remember this exists lol. In the mean time I want to set up the API so people can try this in other places, but it's too expensive at the moment
I'm going to add another file very soon attempting to make an optimized version for GPT-4. Please try it and let me know how it goes and I'll try to improve it when I can.
But for anyone else reading this: please use Claude Opus to play this game when possible, there is truly no substitute for it at this point in time

Hi, I really enjoy this game but I usually run out of messages on Claude in less than an hour. Do you have any solutions?

I got to say, this is actually amazing! I am running it with Claude Opus and so far it has been nothing less than a wonderful experience. Love it!
